Responsibilities

• Teaches Spanish to Middle School students
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times
• Plans a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Prepares for classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
• Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media
• Strives to implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals
• Assesses student accomplishments and provides progress reports
• Takes precautions to protect students and materials
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct
• Makes provisions for availability to students and parents outside instructional hours
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior
• Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth and prepares progress reports
• Communicates with parents about pupil progress
• Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other staff to address issues
• Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities
• Administers group standardized tests
• Performs all other duties as assigned
