About The Position

Aug Prep is more than a school, it's a community where excellence, faith, and holistic education come together. We’re not only about high standards but also creating a place where people love to grow, learn, and inspire! We currently serve over 2,400 K4-12 students in our ninth year at our South Campus. We are thrilled to launch our North Campus in the 26-27 school year, initially serving about 300 students in grades K4-6 and 9. In This Role, You Will Support the Middle School Program at St. Augustine Preparatory Academy, where students experience a challenging and diverse academic curriculum. The program builds on the foundations established in Elementary School, while offering deeper content, broader program options, and greater independence to prepare students for high school. Our flexible classroom model incorporates innovative educational approaches designed to promote collaboration, community, and individualized learning. Through data-driven instruction, students strengthen their ability to learn independently, an essential skill for success in high school and beyond.

Requirements

  • A belief in the ability of every child and a commitment to ensure excellence for each student.
  • Bachelor's Degree, including any other requirements for accreditation, (Master’s degree a plus). State teaching license preferred but not required.
  • Active participation in a Christian church.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Team player committed to the St. Augustine Preparatory mission and model.
  • Lastly and most important, the candidate must demonstrate and possess the highest integrity, and be able to live the values, beliefs, and culture of St. Augustine Prep.

Responsibilities

  • Hold primary responsibility for supporting the social, emotional, and academic growth of students while honoring individual needs and developmental differences.
  • Ensure students receive a high-quality educational experience that promotes strong academic achievement.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver rigorous instruction aligned to 6–8 curriculum in core subjects, adapting instructional strategies for individualized and small-group learning.
  • Use academic data to adjust both whole-group and small-group instruction, ensuring alignment with student needs and grade-level standards.
  • Monitor, document, and evaluate student learning and social development in a timely manner for progress reporting.
  • Identify student needs, make appropriate referrals, and contribute to the development of individualized plans when necessary.
  • Integrate technology, diverse learning styles, and current instructional practices to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
  • Serve as a cultural and spiritual leader for students, modeling respectful interactions and striving to demonstrate God’s love at all times.
  • Seek meaningful opportunities to integrate Biblical truths, character development, and/or faith-based values into instruction.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing classroom environment that fosters independence, collaboration, and positive behavior.
  • Manage classroom expectations consistently, encouraging courage, respect, integrity, and perseverance through relationship-centered behavior systems.
  • Communicate proactively with students and families about academic progress, behavior, and classroom updates while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Work collaboratively and positively with colleagues, supervisors, families, and community members to cultivate an inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain positive, solution-oriented relationships and contribute to a culture of collective problem-solving throughout the school community.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, coaching, professional development, course work, workshops, and collaborative planning to remain current with best instructional practices.
  • Welcome coaching and feedback to refine classroom strategies and enhance student outcomes.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and a high standard of ethical behavior in all aspects of the role.
  • Engage fully in the school community and remain open-minded to growth and innovation as the organization evolves.
  • Participate in daily school routines and transitions, including arrival, lunch, recess, dismissal, and other supervisory duties.
  • Support teachers and students in daily specials such as PE, Art, Drama, Spanish, Bible, Music, and Library.
  • Serve with a flexible, team-oriented mindset that recognizes no duty as outside the scope of the role, working together to meet the needs of students and strengthen the school community.
