About The Position

The Middle School Principal is a critical leadership position that supports the Head of Academics & Activities/Assistant Head of School in cultivating a Christ-centered, mission-aligned learning environment that promotes academic excellence and Christ-like character. This role provides leadership and oversight for middle school faculty and students while ensuring a safe, structured, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. The Middle School Principal serves as the primary leader for school culture, faculty supervision and evaluation, instructional leadership, and daily campus operations. The Principal partners closely with the Middle School Assistant Principal in matters of student discipline and campus management and serves as a visible, relational, and spiritually grounded leader within the school community.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or Administration (preferred)
  • Completion of a Christian Philosophy of Education course (ACSI)
  • Current or eligible ACSI Certification
  • Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience
  • Experience in Christian school administration preferred
  • Extensive experience in classroom management
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instructional programs appropriate to middle school learners
  • Strong belief in and commitment to the mission and vision of Rejoice Christian School

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate middle school faculty and staff
  • Provide instructional leadership and coaching
  • Enforce school policies and procedures consistently
  • Lead the middle school leadership team
  • Meet with students, parents, and staff to resolve concerns
  • Support faculty with curriculum planning and classroom management
  • Oversee scheduling, room assignments, and daily operations
  • Assist with substitute teacher coordination
  • Support professional development and accreditation efforts
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain high-quality faculty
  • Model Christ-like leadership and professional excellence
  • Establish and sustain a Christ-centered middle school culture
  • Partner with the Middle School Assistant Principal on student discipline
  • Ensure consistent expectations and behavioral accountability
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout campus
  • Oversee supervision of students during transitions and common times
  • Participate in student and parent orientation
  • Foster a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment
  • Lead instructional planning and program development
  • Ensure alignment with state standards and Biblical worldview
  • Support curriculum coherence and instructional best practices
  • Participate in conferences, interviews, and academic planning
  • Support counselors and Learning Services personnel
  • Promote practices aligned with the Portrait of a Graduate
  • Oversee safety procedures and emergency preparedness
  • Respond to drills and emergency situations
  • Ensure a safe and orderly campus environment
