About The Position
Licensed, dedicated Middle School Math teacher needed at IC Imagine Charter School in Asheville. The teacher is expected to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive academic program for Middle School students and prepare experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The teacher should also be prepared to provide leadership and coordination. The teacher establishes effective rapport with students, motivates students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for learning, in accordance with each student’s ability. This individual creates and maintains good relationships with parents and other team members. Salary based on IC Imagine’s Certified/ Licensed Teachers Salary Schedule .
Requirements
- Skilled in problem solving and decision making as well as observation, listening, and coaching
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Maintain effective working relationships
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom
- Possess strong time management skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitask in a busy environment
- Proficiency with GSuite
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
- Valid North Carolina teaching license
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, squatting, reaching and bending
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of Middle School curriculum
- Implement Eureka Math Curriculum
- Use resources necessary to plan, implement, and evaluate an engaging, age-appropriate course of study that follows the guidelines of the NC Standards for all courses taught
- Design instruction appropriate for all students that reflects an understanding of relevant content and is based on continuous and appropriate assessment
- Implement Second Step SEL Curriculum and lead advisory group
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff and the IC Imagine community to enhance the educational opportunities for all students
- Participate in Standards Based Grading practices
- Prepare and deliver appropriate instruction for intervention and enrichment groups
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to the positive school climate
- Frequent oral and written communication with parents and families of students
- Frequent oral and written communication with colleagues and administrators
- Manage inventory and repair of instructional resources and equipment
- Follow the processes laid out in the faculty handbook, respond to emails in a timely manner, keep grades updated weekly, and correspond regularly with families with pertinent information for courses taught.
- Perform additional duties including, but not limited to supervision during non-instructional time, attending after-school events and meetings, participating in enrollment activities leading and during the Open Enrollment period.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical requirements of the teaching profession and set an example for others to do the same.
