About The Position

Christel House Academy South is specifically seeking a Middle School Math Teacher for the '26-'27 school year. In this role, teachers are granted autonomy to implement innovative strategies to cater to diverse learners. Beyond academics, teachers are expected to support the 'whole child' by integrating character education and social and emotional learning strategies into their teaching. The school provides a strong support system for its teachers, including interventionists, instructional coaches, lead teachers, on-site social workers and counselors, and a collaborative staff committed to continuous improvement within the school community.

Requirements

  • Valid IN Teaching License
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Competency in using technology in the classroom setting.
  • Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • A strong belief in the mission and goals of Christel House Indianapolis and Christel House International.
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively, maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that facilitate active learning.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, conduct home visits, schedule student-led conferences, and promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
  • Participate in appropriate professional activities.
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively, maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Other duties assigned.
