About The Position

The school is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics and a passion for teaching middle school students. The Middle School Math Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective math instruction, fostering a positive classroom environment, and supporting students in achieving academic success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Middle School Math endorsement.
  • Experience teaching math at the middle school level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and effective instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting the diverse needs of middle school students.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and district curriculum guidelines.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including differentiated instruction and hands-on activities.
  • Incorporate technology and other resources to enhance the learning experience and engage students in the subject matter.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote student engagement and minimize disruptions.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Assess student understanding and mastery of mathematical concepts through formative and summative assessments.
  • Use data from assessments to inform instructional decisions and provide targeted support to students who are struggling.
  • Communicate student progress to parents, guardians, and school administration regularly.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure the success of all students.
  • Participate in professional learning communities (PLCs) and contribute to the development of school-wide instructional strategies and goals.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in math education and middle school instruction.
  • Provide extra help and support to students outside of regular class time as needed, including tutoring and after-school programs.
  • Encourage student participation in math-related extracurricular activities, such as math clubs or competitions.
  • Build positive relationships with students to support their academic and personal growth.
