About The Position

As The International School of Texas (IST) continues to grow, we announce our search for a full-time Middle School Math & Science Teacher to begin duties in August 2026. This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP) students. This position will join a team of highly qualified, motivated, and professional educators in our Secondary Division. The primary responsibilities of this position include the planning and preparation of highly engaging, rigorous mathematics and science lessons while documenting and tailoring instructional practices to best meet the needs of the students. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: The Lead Teacher must have experience teaching middle school. The successful candidate should have a strong belief in progressive education and have experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning. This position requires an openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom. In addition to teaching responsibilities, IST faculty have the opportunity to lead a variety of extracurricular and club activities that enrich the IST experience. Requirements

The Lead Teacher must have experience teaching middle school.
The successful candidate should have a strong belief in progressive education and have experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning.
This position requires an openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
Two or more years of Middle School teaching experience.
Pedagogical best practices integrated with SEL/Mindfulness.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Teaching Certification (Required)

Nice To Haves

Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School.
Master’s Degree preferred and increased stipend rewarded.
International Baccalaureate experience is preferred but not required
