Job SummarySt. Ambrose Catholic School is seeing a Middle School Math and Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The Middle School Math & Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in mathematics and science. This position supports students’ academic, social, and personal development by fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation for mathematical reasoning and social understanding. The teacher creates a structured, inclusive, and respectful learning environment and collaborates with colleagues to support student success and school-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field required
  • Valid teaching certification
  • Strong knowledge of math and science content and effective instructional practices.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to create engaging learning experiences and support diverse learners.
  • Successful completion of required background checks and training.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching middle school students or working with adolescents preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality instruction in mathematics and science aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Teach assigned math and science courses
  • Design lessons that promote critical thinking, inquiry, and active learning using a variety of instructional strategies.
  • Incorporate technology, manipulatives, primary sources, project-based learning, and real-world applications into instruction.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, abilities, and learning styles of students.
  • Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments and use results to guide instruction.
  • Provide timely and meaningful feedback and communicate student progress with parents/guardians and school staff.
  • Create and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and engagement.
  • Establish clear expectations for behavior and consistently enforce school policies.
  • Support students’ academic growth, responsibility, and self-discipline.
  • Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times, including transitions, lunch, recess, and field trips, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and student support initiatives.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.
  • Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, grades, and student documentation, in accordance with school policies.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Uphold professional standards of conduct, confidentiality, and reliability.
