The primary role of this position includes teaching an ancient world history curriculum, based on characteristics of early civilizations, to 5th grade students including historical thinking, reading, writing and research skills. Strong research and writing skills are key in this role, as well as a willingness to collaborate with other humanities teachers and librarians to consistently teach these skills to students. The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in education, preferably middle school history education, and a masters degree is preferred. Passion and/or experience for project-based and differentiated learning and interest in working in a student-centered, collaborative, educational environment is beneficial. Experience in Google Suite for Education is preferred. Candidates should have an interest in being part of a community that strives to create access, equity and belonging for all.
