About The Position

Gloucester Middle School (grades 4-8) is seeking a compassionate and highly motivated Middle School Guidance Counselor to provide comprehensive support to students in their academic, social, and emotional development. The ideal candidate will help foster a positive school environment and collaborate with staff, students, and families to promote student success.

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey K-12 School Counselor Certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Nice To Haves

• Coordination of standardized school testing programs.
• Management of homebound instruction referrals and schedules.
• Development and monitoring of 504 plans to support student accommodations.
• Ability to create schedules that best meet the needs of students.
• Utilization of various counseling strategies & best practices to address student needs.
• Implementation of the New Jersey Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling to support students' academic, emotional, and social development.
• Deliver classroom presentations and workshops on topics such as conflict resolution, study skills, and career readiness.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create personalized strategies for student success.
• Serve as a resource for students and families navigating educational and emotional challenges.
• Actively support a school culture of respect, inclusivity, and positive relationships.
