About The Position

The Middle School Girls Basketball Coach is responsible for coaching and developing student-athletes in the sport of basketball during the season from January through March. The role involves establishing practice schedules, maintaining discipline, and ensuring adherence to the rules and regulations of the sport and the school district. The coach will also be responsible for teaching teamwork and managing equipment inventory.

Requirements

  • Meets MHSA requirements (if applicable).
  • Holds a currently valid American Red Cross First Aid card.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employment and student matters.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches participants in the skills necessary for basketball.
  • Establishes a schedule of practices.
  • Maintains competency in rules, regulations, and coaching techniques for basketball.
  • Maintains discipline and sportsmanlike conduct of all participants.
  • Enforces the policies of the District uniformly when disciplining participants.
  • Responsible for the inventory of equipment.
  • Teaches/coaches the importance of teamwork.

Benefits

  • Stipend of $2,722.00 per PEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
