About The Position

As a Middle School Enrichment Teacher at Veritas Prep, you will design and deliver engaging enrichment courses that inspire students to explore their interests and develop critical thinking skills. You will create a supportive classroom environment that fosters creativity and collaboration while helping students discover their passions and strengths. Your role will be pivotal in guiding students as they navigate their academic paths and prepare for future endeavors. You will also: Prepare and implement high-quality lesson plans that align with educational standards and student interests Assess and evaluate student progress, providing meaningful feedback to encourage growth Support students in building a strong sense of community in the classroom Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate interdisciplinary approaches that enhance the learning experience Utilize data to inform instructional decisions and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs Maintain an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates diversity among students Engage with parents and families to build strong partnerships in support of student learning Commit to professional growth and engage in ongoing learning opportunities within the education community

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • One to three years of teaching experience preferred.
  • Massachusetts DESE Elementary Licensure Preferred, or eligibility to achieve Highly Qualified status within one year of employment, demonstrated by: a passing score on the Communications and Literacy Skills (Reading and Writing) MTEL, and a passing score on appropriate enrichment MTEL (music, theatre, visual arts, or equivalent), and Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement.
  • Authorized to work in the United States, with valid work authorization in place by the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Massachusetts DESE Elementary Licensure Preferred, or eligibility to achieve Highly Qualified status within one year of employment, demonstrated by: a passing score on the Communications and Literacy Skills (Reading and Writing) MTEL, and a passing score on appropriate enrichment MTEL (music, theatre, visual arts, or equivalent), and Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement.
  • One to three years of teaching experience preferred.
