  • Effectively manage student behavior and create a positive learning environment in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques as needed.
  • Establish clear and consistent classroom procedures and routines to promote positive student behaviors.
  • Resolve student conflicts effectively and promote positive resolution of disagreements.
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans aligned with state standards and the network-adopted subject-specific curriculum.
  • Adapt instruction as needed to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and promote critical thinking.
  • Grade assignments and student work based on rubrics and exemplars, in accordance with school policies.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide individualized support and interventions as needed.
  • Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Provide individual and small group support to students as needed.
  • Identify and address student academic and social-emotional needs.
  • Maintain open and professional communication with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Provide timely and informative feedback to students on their work.
  • Conduct regular parent-teacher calls and conferences to discuss student progress and address both, positive student behavior and potential concerns.
  • Utilize effective communication channels, such as ParentSquare messages, to keep parents and families informed about classroom activities and student progress.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to share information, resources, and best practices.
  • Communicate professionally with administrators, network staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with the school's administrative and support staff to ensure student success.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other teachers to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and committees to contribute to the overall success of the school.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and staff meetings to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Stay current on best practices in education and child development.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks such as taking attendance, collecting and distributing homework and materials, enforcing dress code, and maintaining classroom organization.
  • Oversee student safety and well-being during class time, recess, and lunch periods.
  • Enforce school rules and procedures consistently.
  • Be familiar with and follow school emergency procedures, including lockdown, fire drills, and evacuation plans.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

  • Knowledge of public education and charter school movement, preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience working at school sites or experience working with children/youth, preferred.
  • Previous experience in charter schools, preferred.
