About The Position
The Middle School ELA Teacher at Somerset Academy Central Miramar is responsible for creating and maintaining a classroom atmosphere that fosters high expectations and enthusiasm for learning. The position aims to infuse critical thinking skills, application skills, interpersonal skills, and technology into an aligned curriculum and assessment process, ultimately leading to measurable student achievement gains for all students. The teacher will possess a deep understanding of the curriculum and Florida Standards relevant to the subject area, adapting and designing instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of individual students. In this role, the teacher will recommend effective educational and classroom management strategies, materials, and techniques to parents and other support personnel involved with the students. Continuous monitoring of student data will be essential, applying techniques for identification, ongoing re-evaluation, and planning to ensure that all students are supported in their learning journey. The teacher will also be expected to engage in professional development to enhance their teaching practices and stay updated with educational trends and standards. The ideal candidate will be FDOE Certified or currently awaiting temporary certification, with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Reading Endorsement. The position is full-time, requiring a commitment to work in person from Monday to Friday, and offers a competitive salary starting from $50,275 per year.
