About The Position

St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School is seeking a Middle School ELA/Literature Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The teacher is responsible for providing English Language Arts and literature instruction aligned with Archdiocesan curriculum standards while supporting the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or related field
• Missouri teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain)

Nice To Haves

• Middle school teaching experience preferred
• Familiarity with Catholic education preferred

Responsibilities

• Teach English Language Arts and Literature to middle school students
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons in reading, writing, grammar, and literature
• Guide students in literary analysis, comprehension, and written expression
• Assess student learning and maintain required academic records
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Maintain a positive, structured, and faith‑centered learning environment
• Communicate effectively with parents and school staff
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities
