About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Dance & Drama Teacher to inspire middle school students through movement, performance, and theatrical expression. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment while developing students’ confidence, collaboration skills, and appreciation for the performing arts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Theatre, Performing Arts, Education, or related field
• Teaching certification/licensure
• Experience working with middle school-aged students
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Passion for arts education and student development
• Ability to choreograph and direct student performances
• Ability to demonstrate dance movements and participate in physical activity
• Ability to stand, move, and engage actively throughout the school day

Nice To Haves

• Experience directing school plays or musicals
• Background in multiple dance styles and theatrical techniques
• Ability to integrate technology into instruction
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in dance and drama aligned with school and/or state standards
• Teach foundational techniques in movement, choreography, acting, and stage presence
• Develop age-appropriate curriculum that encourages creativity and self-expression
• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on interdisciplinary projects and school events
• Maintain classroom materials, costumes, props, and equipment
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration
