About The Position

Middle School Coordinator The Middle School Coordinator plays a pivotal role in shaping Ch.O.I.C.E. Academy, a therapeutic independent school that transforms the lives of children facing significant emotional and behavioral challenges. In this position, you will lead the development, structure, and daily operations of a specialized program designed to help students re-engage with learning, stability, and growth. Your leadership will directly influence a multidisciplinary team, strengthen partnerships with families and school districts, and ensure high-quality clinical and educational support. By designing effective policies, guiding staff development, and ensuring individualized programming, you will help create an environment where students can build resilience and achieve meaningful progress. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.
  • License (or license eligible) in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology.
  • 5-8 years clinical/direct service work and 2-4 years administrative experience including previous supervision experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact well with parents, school staff, WCMHS staff, and other professionals.
  • Valid driver’s license, excellent driving record, and access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle is required.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds as well as execute restraint techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Design program structure, expectations, policies, and procedures consistent with clinical best practice, agency guidelines, and school district requirements.
  • Coordinate intakes for new students.
  • Develop individualized programming for up to six students with support from the Educational Coordinator.
  • Monitor the program budget, monthly budget reports, expenditures, and petty cash.
  • Build a cohesive team of mental health and education professionals.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with families, school districts, agency personnel, the Governance Board, and other partners.
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to clinical staff, Team Leaders, Behavioral Interventionists/Education Support Specialists, and the Special Activities Coordinator.
  • Participate in interviewing and selecting staff with the Educational Coordinator.
  • Orient new employees to program expectations.
  • Support staff development, skill transfer, and ongoing professional growth.
  • Identify training needs and ensure required trainings and in-services occur.
  • Develop agendas and lead regular staff meetings.
  • Assist in developing, supervising, and implementing individual and family treatment plans and groups.
  • Monitor the provision of clinical treatment to students and families.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy as needed.
  • Attend treatment team meetings.
  • Coordinate orientation for students and families regarding program policies and expectations.
  • Provide clinical services in the absence of Clinicians/Case Managers.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow all agency policies and procedures.
  • Learn crisis de-escalation and passive restraint techniques and use them when necessary to ensure safety.
  • Ensure the physical safety of students and others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the program mission.
