MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL COACH - 2025-26 Department: Athletics Unit: Athletics Salary: Schedule C of the GREA contract and prior experience ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT MISSION: GRPS will create educational opportunities and experiences, through athletics, that will enhance student achievement, student development and school culture. JOB SUMMARY A coach is responsible for organizing athletes and teaching them the fundamentals of sport. A coach is responsible for training them to compete as a team and individually. Developing the knowledge and understanding of Grand Rapids policies and procedures as it applies to athletics. Promoting and enforcing the student-athlete code of conduct. Connecting athletic experiences with life experiences. Providing an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration among coaches and players Becoming an integral part of and developing rapport with the Grand Rapids community including administration, coaches, parents, and students. Modeling good sportsmanship always. Creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for student athletes. Understanding their leadership style and its impact on student-athletes. Game and practice attire should be professional and appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned.
