The coach interacts directly with student-athletes, coaches, parents and as a representative of HCS Athletics to be a highly visible platform for the exhibition of Christian character. The employee is to live and coach in such a way so that student-athletes are led to righteousness in every area of life, and in particular their athletic development. The head coach is committed to fostering an environment of encouragement, teamwork, and excellence; not criticism, individualism, or perfectionism. It is the desire of our teams to play to win, but more importantly to glorify God. The employee must be a Christian with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who agrees to the HCS Statement of Faith, Charter of Core Values and Employee Covenant in both their professional conduct and personal lifestyle. The employee is committed to incorporating these qualities and standards in carrying out the calling to Christian education. In addition, demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance and punctuality. Meet the stress of athletic competition with emotional stability and positive words/actions. The employee will establish and maintain excellent working relationships, representing Christ and HCS professionally and positively with the HCS community-at-large, including faculty and staff, Board members, parents, volunteers and others is crucial to the success of this role. Prior coaching or playing experience is preferred. Previous managerial experience is a plus.
