About The Position

The Middle School Assistant Vocal Teacher is responsible for leading and enhancing the educational experience of students in vocal music. Requirements

• Valid Iowa teaching certificate.
• Bachelor's Degree in music education or acceptable content area.
• Proper state certification and licensure for the position.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret complex data and apply assessment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long-range and daily instructional plans.
• Prepare course objectives and outlines following curriculum guidelines.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage students in learning.
• Evaluate students' academic and social growth using formative assessment strategies.
• Maintain records for student attendance, evaluations, and discipline records.
• Manage District inventory related to vocal music programs.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and educational needs.
• Provide feedback on in-class and out-of-class work to encourage student growth.
• Participate in student activities and faculty committees.
• Cooperate with staff to address students' social, emotional, and academic issues.
• Attend professional development and maintain professional competence.
• Supervise and maintain the building choral music library.
• Coordinate selection and purchase of vocal ensemble outfits.
