They will also meet the following qualifications and possess these preferred skills:

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent
  • Substitute License (Or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hiring)
  • Absolute willingness and ability to collaborate with all staff and any members of the community that are directly related to the success of the students
  • Ability to work with underserved communities and encourage restorative practices alongside behavior support
  • Eagerness and ability to receive and implement feedback from manager, coach, and/or peers
  • Ability to prioritize punctuality and attendance

Responsibilities

  • Provide push-in and/or pull-out instruction for students with IEPs
  • Support students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to reach their IEP goals
  • Utilize the most current SPED practices that cultivate success for the needs of individual and groups of students
  • Regularly assess, track, and/or monitor a students’ progress toward IEP goals
  • Partner with Special Education Teacher and/or general education teacher to use data to reflect on student achievement progress in order to improve instruction and teaching practice
  • Participate in conferences and meetings with students’ families, general education teachers, and school leaders
  • Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, special education teachers and assistants to support students with IEPs
  • Collaborate regularly with the Behavior Support team and school leaders to address student emotional and mental well being and needs
  • Communicate frequently and effectively with student families; promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
