About The Position

The MS Assistant Coach position encompasses multiple sports including Football, Softball, and Wrestling. The role is designed to assist in organizing a comprehensive sports program while providing instruction in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for athletes to achieve individual and team success. The coach is expected to serve as a role model for student athletes, demonstrating behaviors that foster character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride in accomplishments. The position requires ongoing professional development through coaching clinics and observations.

Requirements

• Ability to assist with organizing a total sports program.
• Previous experience in the assigned sport.
• Significant knowledge in the sport.

Responsibilities

• Assist with organizing a total sports program.
• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training.
• Serve as a role model for student athletes.
• Maintain discipline among student athletes.
• Assist the head coach in scheduling and transportation for tournaments and special events.
• Prepare for scheduled sport events or practices and coordinate with maintenance and school employees.
• Provide documentation for state and system requirements regarding physical examinations and eligibility.
• Ensure the maintenance and protection of assigned equipment.
• Mentor athletes to promote character traits such as trustworthiness, respect, and responsibility.
• Monitor student athletes' grades and conduct.
• Provide guidance and safeguards during practices, games, and travel.
• Enforce training rules and regulations of the sport.
• Complete paperwork on athletic injuries and submit to the athletic office within 24 hours.
• Direct student managers, assistants, and statisticians.
