Middle School All City Jazz Band Director Objective âNBHS seeks a Middle School All City Band Director to teach and inspire our students. Through strong teamwork, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills - this candidate will foster a positive environment for all participants.
Requirements
- Experience rehearsing jazz music for middle school students
- Experience selecting appropriate music for middle school students
- Improvisational techniques
- Knowledge or appropriate techniques on wind/rhythm section instruments
- Works collaboratively with staff and students
Responsibilities
- Assist with leading the Middle School All City Jazz Band through the School Year
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement
- Support the musical development of the ensemble with the other director(s)
- Implement all musical techniques needed by members of the brass, woodwind, and rhythm sections
- Maintain, secure, and setup equipment and materials for rehearsals and performances
- Establish a positive rapport with students and families
- Participate in concerts through the school year
- Flexible schedule including working holidays
- Such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal, Director of Fine Arts, or CDAM - Arts
