About The Position

Immaculate Conception Catholic School, Old Monroe seeks a dedicated and faith‑filled educator to serve as the 6th Grade Homeroom Teacher and Middle School Science Teacher. This role supports student learning in both homeroom responsibilities and science instruction across middle school grade levels. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
  • Teaching certification for middle school or science preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of middle school science content and instructional best practices.
  • Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that support a variety of learners.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom‑management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary homeroom teacher for 6th grade, supporting students’ academic, social, and spiritual development.
  • Plan and deliver engaging middle school science instruction aligned with curriculum standards, emphasizing hands‑on learning, inquiry, and critical thinking.
  • Integrate Catholic values and faith experiences into classroom routines, lessons, and community activities.
  • Create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and student success.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and provide accommodations as appropriate.
  • Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of formative and summative tools; communicate regularly with students and families.
  • Collaborate with middle school team members, specialists, and school leadership to support student learning and curriculum alignment.
  • Maintain consistent classroom procedures, routines, and expectations to foster organization and accountability.
  • Incorporate technology effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement.
  • Participate in schoolwide activities, professional development, and faith‑formation opportunities.
