Middle Office Loan Closer, Vice President
About The Position
Guggenheim is seeking a Vice President to join the Loan Services closing team. The position requires close interaction with various parties including traders, client service support, custodian/trustee banks, fund administrators, legal counsel and credit analysts. This role will involve working in a dynamic team environment, presents opportunities to further develop bank loan industry knowledge, and supports the Loan Closing team’s objectives and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess operational expertise inclusive of a complete understanding of bank debt and fixed income securities and have proven their ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment. The Vice President role presents an opportunity to join a team that sits at the ‘hub’ of Guggenheim Investments at an exciting time of growth and evolution at all levels of the company. The position is in our New York City office, full-time.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Business Administration / Finance concentration preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in CLO or leveraged loan operations within an investment management firm
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in investment operations
- Experience with ClearPar or WSO or similar platforms
- Experience managing operations professionals
- High competence level with Microsoft Office
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship or transfer.
Nice To Haves
- 5-8 years of bank loan-related experience
- Knowledge of Wall Street Office, Aladdin, and Bloomberg
- Loan closing experience
- Team-oriented individual with the ability to work well across diverse groups in a collaborative, dynamic team environment
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team in the Middle Office primarily responsible for syndicated loan closing functions
- Work directly with the deal team to monitor deal pipeline for anticipated loan settlements
- Serve as a primary point of contact for coordinating the closing of time-sensitive direct loan investments
- Coordinate the communication of cash needs to PM teams, and FX desk for non-USD settlements
- Closely interact with various parties such as agent banks, counterparties, PMs, traders, and analysts
- Support time sensitive urgent requests/inquiries from the Front Office, Client Service Support team pertaining to transfers, new accounts and closing processes, etc.
- Identify and escalate issues to the front office bank loan trading assistants/traders, in-house legal counsel and management, when necessary and track and report these issues through appropriate workflow tools
- Support projects focused on tightening control gaps for daily processes and to improve scale and efficiencies
- Manage loan amendment workflow, to include tracking and submission and ensure votes are executed in a timely and accurate manner
- Review and understand LSTA standard documents and other legal documents including Trade Confirms, Assignment Agreements, Proceeds letters, Participation agreements, Cash collateral agreements and Multilateral Agreements
- Review and understand Credit Agreements, specifically assignability language
- Create, understand and present metrics reporting for trading, portfolio management and operations
- Prepare monthly/weekly reporting to senior management for open trades and trading metrics
- Responsible for closing both par and distressed bank loan trades
