About The Position

Belay Technologies is seeking a Mid Software Engineer (Tester) to join The ISLANDSUNSET team. This role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems, all based on documented requirements. The Software Engineer will work individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements, documenting test results, and resolving software problem reports. The position requires the utilization of appropriate software development and design methodologies and providing specific input to the software components of system design, covering hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components. Belay Technologies is a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business specializing in systems automation and full stack development, providing technology and engineering solutions to the DoD and commercial products.

Requirements

TS/SCI with polygraph is required
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer engineering or in a field related to the computer engineering or computer science disciplines (An additional 4+ years of Software Engineering experience may be substituted for the degree for a total of 9 years)
5 years of Software Engineering experience
2 years’ work experience in the SIGINT, IA, or IT domains
5-9 years’ computer/IT professional experience
1+ years’ experience with Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana)
2+ years Python, R, JavaScript, or Perl programming
1+ years UNIX scripting
Familiar with web application technologies (e.g., html, JavaScript, web servers, and application servers)
Proficient in UNIX commands
Proficient in Windows
Ability to work in a collaborative environment
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Results-oriented

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements
Work individually or as part of a team
Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements
Document test results
Resolve software problem reports
Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment
Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components
