We are seeking a Senior CAD Technician to support our transportation engineering team in preparing high-quality design and construction documents. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical drafting, deep knowledge of transportation design standards, and the ability to collaborate with CAD team members, engineers, and project managers to deliver complex projects

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in CAD drafting for civil/transportation projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Experience with Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads preferred.
  • Strong understanding of transportation/traffic engineering concepts and plan development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in drafting/design, civil technology, or related field.
  • Experience with agency standards (DOT, FHWA, municipal).
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling/visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare detailed plans, profiles, and cross-sections for transportation projects (traffic signals, lighting, signing/striping, temporary traffic control, Intelligent Transportation Systems, roadways, and intersections).
  • Apply CAD standards, client requirements, and agency specifications (e.g., DOT, municipal).
  • Review and incorporate survey data, field notes, and design markups into drawings.
  • Coordinate with engineers, planners, and project managers to meet deadlines and project goals.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing CAD standards and workflows.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide quality control reviews of drawings.
  • Manage electronic files and ensure compliance with project documentation protocols.
  • Provide technical support for all CAD software
