About The Position

WSP is currently has a career opportunity for a Mid-Level Water / Wastewater Engineer to be involved in projects with our Earth & Infrastructure Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. Our ideal candidate has an interest in learning and being engaged in a variety of projects including municipal, industrial and mining water / wastewater conveyance and treatment. The primary focus of the position is project work for the development of engineering studies, design reports, construction documents, and construction oversight/administration related to water and wastewater infrastructure in the municipal and industrial markets in Arizona and across the country.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering or other related engineering degree
  • 3 to 5+ years related or relevant experience
  • Engineer-in-Training certification or preparing for the FE or PE exam
  • Arizona Professional Engineering registration or ability to obtain Arizona PE registration a plus
  • Understanding/experience with detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment, water conveyance systems and wastewater collection systems
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prepare written reports, coordinate meetings, and conduct effective client presentations
  • Team-oriented, hardworking, and intent on doing great work
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites
  • Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Nice To Haves

  • MS degree is a plus
  • Ability to use CAD software is considered a plus

Responsibilities

  • Will work collaboratively with the team including Senior Engineers
  • Provide basic engineering services in support of planning, studies, analysis, and design of water treatment and distribution systems, as well as wastewater collection and treatment systems
  • Under instruction from the Project Engineer, create detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment, water conveyance systems and wastewater collection systems
  • Setup and perform hydraulic modeling for water distribution and sewer systems
  • Mentor Junior staff
  • Ensure timeliness and technical quality of deliverables
  • Project manage scope, budget and schedules
  • Work with CAD designers to prepare plans/drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure systems using industry-standard design platforms, such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, etc.
  • Check design computations and quantity estimates
  • Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects
  • Occasional field work and travel to project sites in Arizona and the US may be required
