About The Position

ThinkTek is seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level Wargaming Analyst to support functional and technical analysis to assist the program in evaluating, designing, integrating, and improving wargaming software solutions. This role leverages hands-on wargaming experience and structured analytical methodologies to assess the effectiveness, realism, and analytical value of simulation tools.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience conducting formal research and analysis in one or more of the following areas: Military operations Intelligence analysis National or international security Comparable academic or industry research domains
• Proven ability to apply structured/traditional analytical methodologies.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Minimum Active Secret Clearance
• Education: Bachelor's degree (preferably in International Relations / International Affairs / Security Studies, Economics, History or Military History, Political Science, Economics, Operations Research / Systems Engineering, or any relevant STEM field).
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with DoD or Federal Government software programs.
• Knowledge of simulation environments or distributed simulation architectures.

Responsibilities

• Wargaming Software Evaluation & Assessment
• Evaluate and assess wargaming software tools to determine their effectiveness in modeling military operations, strategic scenarios, and decision-making environments.
• Analyze software capabilities, limitations, and underlying assumptions in the context of operational realism, analytical rigor, and mission applicability.
• Identify gaps in modeling, data, or assumptions and propose enhancements to improve analytical validity and usability.
• Develop recommendations for the selection, improvement, or application of wargaming tools based on mission needs and analytical objectives.
• Reporting & Communication
• Produce clear, concise reports and briefings summarizing findings, software evaluations, and actionable recommendations.
