About The Position

AECOM is seeking to hire a Mid-level Transit Planner to support our exciting project in Austin, TX .

Requirements

• BA/BS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors from an accredited university in Planning, Engineering, Geography, or related field.
• Strong technical writing skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems such as ArcMap, ArcPro, and ArcGIS Online
• Proficiency or familiarity with transit service planning or scheduling software
• Experience in transit network and route design
• Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills
• Coursework and/or project experience in geography, urban planning, transportation planning, GIS and data analysis
• Experience in preparing graphics and visuals
• Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and graphical skills
• Familiarity with local clients

Responsibilities

• Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others
• Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed planning products.
• Usually performs as a consultant as to a technical specialty, a type of facility, industry, equipment or program function.
• Monitors and ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws.
• Supports specialized planning functions, such as large-scale new development proposals and environmental studies.
• Supports the Planning Director on all planning-related matters.
• Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities.
• Prepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.
