Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work™ Artic Slope Technical Services Inc (ASTS) is seeking a Mid-level Test & Integration Specialist to join our Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS) Data Acquisition System (ADAS) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This is a 100% on-site, full-time position at the William J Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The objective of ADAS is to provide collection, processing, archiving, and distribution of aviation-oriented weather observation data in support of the NAS. We are looking for an individual to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment. This individual will/may: Provide 2nd Level Engineering support. Posses knowledge/experience in: Internet and communication protocols such as TCP/IP. The development and improvement of software development processes. Troubleshooting legacy communication circuits utilizing application web screen toolsets to remote sensor-side interfaces. Citizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance. Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA). Has resided in the US for the last three (3) consecutive years. The company is unable to sponsor candidates at this time. Relocation Requirement Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Education Requirement All non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twelve (12) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field. OR Master’s Degree in any field of study with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and nine (9) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field.

Requirements

  • Experience/knowledge in:
  • Linux operating system; such as RHEL.
  • Troubleshooting legacy serial connection circuits, protocol converters, etc.
  • Writing/executing system test procedures, plans, and reports.
  • Systems, databases, networking, server operations, data communication, system analysis, and computing environments.
  • TDM Circuits and TDM-IP cutovers; including IP over LTE and carrier ethernet.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Defect tracking.
  • Script writing.
  • Have strong attention to details and willing to take initiative.
  • Ability to:
  • Work independently, as well as on a team.
  • Learn on the job and be self-motivated.
  • Take ownership of various initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate defects.
  • Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.
  • Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA).

Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for ADAS.
  • Collaborate with agile teams to develop, execute, and maintain systems in alignment with FAA requirements.
  • Support system development, testing, integration, and deployment activities locally and in the field.
  • Review and comment on system engineering, requirement, testing and training documents.
  • Attend meetings, such as Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), to support the program and team.
  • Participate in system test and key site test activities.
  • Provide end-user functionality support to the field remotely via the helpdesk (24 x 7).
