Join our agile, fast-growing federal IT consulting team as a Mid-Level Technical Writer & Proposal Lead. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping our proposal strategy, collaborating with subject matter experts, and driving our expansion in the federal marketplace.   • Lead and coordinate proposal efforts for federal government clients, from pre-solicitation preparation through submission.
  • Analyze federal solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, SSNs) to identify key requirements, evaluation criteria, and compliance factors.
  • Develop clear, compliant, and compelling response documents tailored to federal standards and customer needs.
  • Track deadlines and manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts (IT engineering, cybersecurity, business operations, program management, software development) to gather and synthesize technical information.
  • Maintain and improve a repository of reusable proposal content and technical documentation.
  • Edit and unify contributions from team members for consistency, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet government guidelines, company standards, and formatting requirements.
  • Independently gather information from SMEs to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
  • Lead proposal team meetings, providing updates on assigned tasks and ensuring alignment with proposal objectives.
  • 3–7 years of technical writing and proposal management experience, with a focus on federal government contracting.
  • Demonstrated success in federal proposal writing, compliance, and management.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills suited to a small, dynamic team.
  • Exceptional research, writing, and editing skills for diverse technical and business audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical staff to gather and synthesize information.
  • Familiarity with government regulations, processes, and requirements related to solicitations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and proposal software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Pro)
  • Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, business, or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a growth-focused environment.
  • Desktop publishing experience preferred.
  • Experience in a small business or startup environment preferred.
  • Track record of adapting to evolving processes and contributing to team development.
