About The Position

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a high performing Mid-Level System Administrator to join the team in El Segundo, CA . The System Administrator will be a part of the Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure & Operations team that provides and employs best practices when implementing security requirements within an information system including software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques to protect classified and proprietary information. These opportunities include development and integration of a variety of system hardware and software applications supporting our engineering and manufacturing teams. The System Administrator will also work within a diverse team of skilled and motivated co-workers to collaborate on results, this position requires a positive attitude, self-motivation, the ability to work in a fast-paced demanding environment, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements

  • Current CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • 3+ years of experience administering user system access and establishing safeguards to protect information to meet network security requirements
  • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering current Windows Server 2022 - 2025 and Desktop Operating Systems - Windows 11
  • Experience deploying, securing and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems (RHEL5/6/7/8)
  • Experience working in a lab test, factory test, or similar test environment
  • Experience working on classified networks
  • Able to travel 10% of the time

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
  • Experience with active directory (AD) to include applying domain group policies
  • Experience creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers based on VMware
  • Experience developing PowerShell scripts to enable consistent, high-quality integration of hardware assets, automate deployment and configuration of operating systems
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies
  • Experience with System Backups, Network switch configuration, Experience with upgrades and patches for operating systems and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software

Responsibilities

  • Performs computing delivery system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture
  • Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems
  • Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems
  • Administers user’s system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements
  • Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning
  • Mentors, leads and trains others
