We are ready to hire an experienced C/C++ Software Engineer to develop software for a next-generation sonar array for future United States Navy submarines. This role will focus on implementing sonar signal processing algorithms, managing high-rate sonar data messaging, and handling precision timing constraints. Our close-knit team is passionate about delivering the best product to the Navy to help protect our country. Our team works closely with the Submarine community to develop solutions that allow the Navy to carry out high-stakes national security missions. As an experienced Software Engineer, you’ll perform software requirements analysis, participate in research and design, and develop and test software for sonar signal processing, data management, and timing. From inventing new products or enhancing existing applications, your talent will be front and center. What you’ll experience: Develop C/C++ applications within a Linux environment to meet the system requirements for the Navy. Develop and optimize applications running on GPU architecture. Implement complex sonar signal processing algorithms. Manage high-rate data messaging and ensure precision timing constraints are met. Write code, test, integrate and document software solutions. Analyze system, functional, and performance requirements and how they impact new or existing signal processing and data management code. Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers on the team. Conduct software peer reviews for others on your team. Perform software unit testing and support integration and test activities.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Solid knowledge of the software development process.
  • Strong experience in C/C++ development.
  • Experience with real-time systems, signal processing, or high-throughput data management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience mentoring junior software engineers.
  • Experience developing with AI-assisted or AI-generated code.
  • Experience with Linux environments and/or GPU architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of technology trends and the ability to advocate for new ideas, products, and process improvements.
  • Ability to effectively handle complex assignments and work through challenging problems with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Creative thinking with the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
