Job Summary The ideal candidate will be familiar with both software engineering best practices, and systems engineering best practices. Candidates should be comfortable translating user and management requests into actionable software roadmaps. Candidates should be capable converting contract verbiage into high acuity software architecture. You’ll be instrumental in supporting software and test teams, by defining the end-state of the product and how it will interface with other systems. Candidates should expect to work across engineering disciplines in order to design end products. This position will develop, refine, and maintain system architecture, software designs, interface definitions, and system models This is a unique opportunity to support advanced systems while applying your software expertise in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Requirements

Must be a US Citizen with active/current Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain
BS in Computer Science
5+ years of experience
Agile Methodologies
Proficiency in at least one backend language: C#, Python, Java, or equivalent
Javascript, Typescript
UML or equivalents
Jira, Azure Devops Boards, or equivalents
Docker or Podman
Technical writing skills for ICDs and other architectural documentation
Experience developing microservices in a container-based environment

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting government or Department of War (DoW) systems
Background in full-stack engineering or development, with the ability to collaborate across infrastructure, development, and QA teams.
Experience creating long-range roadmaps
Experience with maintaining software requirements alongside systems engineers, and establishing requirements traceability to capabilities
Experience integrating DevSecOps principles into software architecture

Responsibilities

Define and maintain the overall software architecture for complex systems and applications.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve system performance and scalability.
Ensure security, reliability, and compliance in all software designs.
Conduct architecture reviews and provide guidance on system integration and interoperability.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
