Mid-Level Packaging Engineering Specialist (Level 3) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Mid-Level Packaging Engineering Specialist (Level 3) to join our dynamic team in Hazelwood, MO. Position Responsibilities: Analyze and practice all facets of Packaging, earning invaluable skills and industry knowledge Under supervision, determines efficiencies and prepares improvements for implementation as part of cost effective worldwide distribution and storage by considering practical packaging and/or handling applications Identifies project requirements by considering packing and handling improvement Assist in providing logistics support analysis by applying established company policies and procedures in accordance with domestic and international laws Applies standards to protect parts during shipment and works with shop personnel to provide prioritization and packaging instructions Under supervision, maintains employee awareness for hazardous materials (dangerous goods) general familiarization, function specific, and safety requirements by providing walk-through support to meet federal and international regulations Evaluates, classifies and develops packaging instructions for hazardous materials Plans the markings, labeling, packaging, and documentation for shipments in compliance with Federal, State, and International regulations. May occasionally interact and present to high level organizational leadership This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience reading & interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 3+ years of experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables
  • 3+ years of experience working with CAD system (SolidWorks, NX Unigraphics or Catia)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required and Special Program Access is required.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related technical discipline) or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in dangerous goods, regulations and assessments
  • 3+ years of experience with packaging engineering preferably Military packaging.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience working independently
  • 3+ years of experience Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Active US Security Clearance
