Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level P-8A Production Program Manager (Level L) to join the P-8A Program Management team in Tukwila, WA ! Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers supporting activities in the area of Production Program Management.
  • Proficiency and experience utilizing Program Management Best Practices (PMBP).
  • Experience working broadly across multiple functions to develop and execute cross-functional plans that improve the overall production value stream. The P-8A value stream includes efforts across Spirit, Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), BDS and Boeing Global Services (BGS); from airplane part ordering to airplane manufacturing, delivery and support.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and all support groups (Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Liaison Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Supplier Quality, Material Management Organization, and Flight Test).
  • Identify risks, issues and opportunities to the production value stream and effectively work subsequent follow-on actions.
  • Work to understand quality trends and root cause corrective action.
  • Familiar with LEAN concepts and LEAN implementation in a production environment and partner with LEAN focal to drive cadence, stakeholder engagement and project completion.
  • Experience documenting processes, identifying process improvements, and implementing process improvements utilizing technology.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with executive leadership team members, functional partners, customers, peers, teammates, direct reports and the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Possesses a communication style that translates across different levels of an organization.
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • 3+ years of experience in preparing and presenting executive level briefings
  • 5+ years of experience do you have in a production-related discipline such as Manufacturing, Quality, Production Engineering, Supplier Management, and/or Supplier Quality
  • 5+ years of experience with Lean+ and/or Lean 5S
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Experience utilizing Boeing Virtual Cube
  • Experience with Flight Line operational experience in the areas of Pre-Flight/Post Flight/Aircraft Release procedures in the support of customer focused flight testing
