About the position
Gradient, a Geosyntec Company, is seeking a motivated and resourceful Mid-Level Environmental Engineer or Scientist to support challenging technical work related to chemical fate and transport. This role offers the opportunity to join a growing practice in either downtown Boston, MA or Charlottesville, VA, focusing on environmental sciences and health risk consulting.
Responsibilities
- Project task management, including planning and delivering high quality work products that are well written and meet project needs.
- Develop appropriate technical approaches for achieving specific project goals.
- Research to identify pollutant sources.
- Research state, federal and/or international environmental regulations.
- Research and evaluate chemical fate & transport.
- Quantitative data analysis and visualization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related geosciences field (required).
- At least 5 years (7+ preferred) of environmental consulting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills (required).
- Ability to balance multiple projects with strict deadlines (required).
- Prior experience related to site investigation and contaminant fate and transport (required).
Nice-to-haves
- Advanced degree in environmental engineering or related geosciences field (preferred).
- Proven leadership skills (preferred).
- Prior experience with flow/transport modeling (preferred).
- Prior knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (preferred).
