Ice Miller is seeking an associate with at least three (3) years of experience in construction law and/or litigation to join our practice. The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative team representing clients in a broad range of construction matters — including contract drafting and negotiation, proactive claims management during project construction, claims avoidance and mediation, arbitration or litigation, and related project development issues. Experience with mechanic’s lien claims is a plus. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in construction law, a solid understanding of construction project operations and administration, strong legal research skills, excellent drafting experience (pleadings, contracts, and other legal documents), and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. An understanding of practical resolutions to real-world construction issues is a must. In this position, you will: Advise clients on construction-related transactional issues and claims analysis Assist with contract review, drafting, and negotiation Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal documents Participate in construction claims strategy, both pre-dispute and during litigation/arbitration, discovery, motion practice, and related case management Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups and offices Receive training with increasing levels of responsibility and opportunities for advancement Ice Miller LLP embraces a work environment that is collaborative, welcoming, and focused on growth.
