The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a cleared cartographic analyst to support our customer in Springfield Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience in GIS analysis to support a dynamic national security customer. The successful candidate will work as a member of a government-contractor team providing cartographic production and analysis. The candidate should have a strong geospatial background and the ability to work independently as well as collaborate on projects. This is a second shift 1500 to 2300 Monday through Friday position. Position requires a current TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph.

  • Work within a government/contractor team environment providing Electronic Nautical Chart Conversion, Production and Review.
  • Provide support to existing and developing mission areas.
  • Perform Digital Nautical Chart and/or Electronic Nautical Chart Conversion production by performing Cartographic and GIS analyst functions.
  • Extract features from a variety of sources including rasterized nautical charts, digital hydrographic survey data, and ortho-rectified imagery.
  • Update source and source catalogs and information.
  • Conduct data conversion/migration.
  • Requires 5 points of relevant background either one or the other: (High School AND 5 years' relevant military or full time geospatial professional experience, or High School and 4 years + GPC level I and II, or relevant BS degree + 2 years' experience).
  • Experience in geography, cartography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) which includes skill in ArcGIS applications.
  • Experience in creating shapefiles, geo-databases, and features.
  • Knowledge of digital cartography, image processing, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial production techniques and NGA digital data formats.
  • Ability to analyze imagery and non-imagery source information for application to NGA hydrographic products and databases.
  • Previous Nautical Maritime experience.
