About The Position

At CDM Smith, we don't just design systems-we create solutions that improve lives and strengthen communities. Our Cleveland team is delivering transformative water and wastewater projects across the region, and we're looking for an engineer who thrives on innovation, collaboration, and purpose-driven work. You will play a key role in designing critical infrastructure that ensures clean water and sustainable systems for generations. Every project you touch will have a direct impact on public health, environmental stewardship, and community resilience.

  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and pump stations under limited supervision-bringing complex ideas to life.
  • Review designs and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and uphold CDM Smith's commitment to quality and safety.
  • Partner with sales teams on proposals, meet with clients to understand evolving needs, and contribute thought leadership through technical papers and industry publications.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers, foster growth, and share knowledge through training and mentorship.
  • Attend conferences and symposia to represent CDM Smith and stay at the forefront of industry trends.

Benefits
