About The Position

Mid Behavioral Psychology Specialist This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance to be considered. Cherokee Insights is seeking qualified Behavioral Psychology Specialists at the mid level to support the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency’s Behavioral Threat Analysis Center by applying behavioral analysis methodologies, as well as identifying and addressing key challenges across the spectrum of insider threat. Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Security clearance
  • Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology or Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD), with a clinical and/or forensic background, and be actively licensed in clinical forensic or police and public safety.
  • Actively licensed Psychologist in any of the 50 States or territories.
  • Possess a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the field of clinical and/or forensic psychology.
  • Possess a forensic background with experience in at least one of the two areas of operations: Threat assessment Support to counterintelligence
  • Demonstrated understanding of making eligibility and access determinations for sensitive information related to workplace violence prevention.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the DoD population through work experience directly supporting the military or DoD.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with the greater threat professional community.
  • American Board of Professional Psychology Certification in either Clinical Forensic or Police and Public Safety
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
  • As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral psychology consultations
  • Produce professional risk-based recommendations and potential steps to mitigate or address risk behaviors.
  • Provide psychological assessments, information and advice on matters regarding behavioral motivations and intentions.
  • Provide interaction strategies in support of analytical findings/recommendations provided to DoD Component insider threat programs that may have significant national security implications.
  • Brief the initial findings of psychological assessments to senior officials and key stakeholders from the DoD Component Insider Threat programs
  • Provide support to senior management initiatives on psychological factors impacting insider threat assessments.
  • Develop behavioral indicators that help to prevent, deter, detect, and mitigate actions by malicious insiders who represent a threat to national security or DoD personnel, facilities, operations, and resources.
  • Provide training courses on specific behavioral indicators of insider threat, as required.
  • Assist with informing and tuning the development of assessment instruments used to identify potential risk behaviors indicative of an insider threat.
  • Conduct targeted research on different aspects of insider threat, both physical and logical (e.g., exfiltration and workplace violence).
  • Produce reports and talking points as a result of targeted research on different aspects of insider threat, both physical and logical, as well as continuous education on behavioral issues
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned
