Overview We are seeking a Mid-Level Microsoft Systems Administrator to support and manage our Microsoft cloud and endpoint environment in a small-to-medium business (SMB) setting. This role is hands-on and operational, requiring broad technical skills across Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and Azure. The ideal candidate is comfortable wearing multiple hats, supporting end users, improving security posture, and helping modernize IT operations without excessive complexity.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience administering Microsoft environments
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
  • Working knowledge of Azure fundamentals
  • Experience with Intune or endpoint management tools
  • Basic to intermediate PowerShell scripting skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience supporting users directly in an SMB environment

Responsibilities

  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams
  • Manage user onboarding/offboarding, licensing, mailboxes, permissions, and collaboration tools
  • Administer Entra ID (Azure AD), including users, groups, MFA, conditional access, and basic role assignments
  • Support Microsoft Intune and Action1 platforms for device enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and application deployment
  • Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 support for endpoint, identity, and M365 issues escalated from helpdesk
  • Perform day-to-day Azure administration (subscriptions, resource groups, RBAC, basic monitoring)
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across Microsoft platforms
  • Assist with Defender tools (Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365) as applicable
  • Create and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate common administrative tasks
  • Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
  • Coordinate with vendors and Microsoft support when needed
