Our work depends on a Microsoft SQL DBaaS Engineer joining our team to support Government activities in Annapolis Junction, MD, or Sterling, VA. As a Microsoft SQL DBaaS Engineer supporting the Government, you will be charged with providing a roadmap for the customers future DBaaS infrastructure, Microsoft SQL Server, database-as-a-service (DBaaS) platform, database management, data migration, maintenance solutions to manage DIA database infrastructure, including maintaining and managing the enterprise SQL server farms and stand-alone databases. In this role, a typical day may include: Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies Analyzing user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications Analyzing system requirements and leads design and development activities Guiding system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly.
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline + 8 years’ experience or the equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work/military experience
  • Engineering experience in the design, development and implementation of software development tools to include developing and testing software solutions; analyzing system performance standards, analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes; conferring with users and management to derive system requirements; problem investigation and resolution
  • Experience creating quality Detailed Design documents, Test Plans, Implementation Plans and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Experience with cloud/server/network implementation and with Cloud infrastructure Services or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) support
  • Engineering experience with Microsoft Active Directory including: Granting privileged Access, Configuring Active Directory Services (ADDS), Group Policy, Objects, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), File Sharing services, Active roles Server (ARS)

Responsibilities
