Due to growth, it has created a need for a Microsoft Business Central Analyst at our manufacturing facility in New Berlin, Wisconsin. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual with experience in ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Business Central, to support and enhance our business operations. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions within the ERP environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business workflows, data analysis, and system configuration. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Specialist, Analyst or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Business Central (or Dynamics NAV/365 Business Central)
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, business processes, and data structures
  • Experience working with finance, supply chain, or manufacturing modules preferred
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar)
  • Familiarity with SQL or basic database concepts is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with ERP implementations or system upgrades
  • Knowledge of integrations with third-party applications
  • Understanding of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Exposure to project management practices or tools

Responsibilities

  • ERP System Management & Configuration
  • Configuring and maintaining Business Central modules relevant to manufacturing (production orders, BOMs, capacity planning, inventory)
  • Managing system updates, patches, and version upgrades
  • Setting up and maintaining user roles and permissions
  • Business Process Analysis
  • Analyzing current manufacturing workflows and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Translating business requirements into system configurations or functional specs
  • Documenting processes, data flows, and system changes
  • Implementation & Project Support
  • Supporting or leading module implementations and enhancements
  • Working with consultants or developers on customizations using AL code or extensions
  • Participating in testing (UAT, regression) for new features or integrations
  • Integrations & Data Management
  • Managing integrations between Business Central and other systems (MES, WMS, Power BI, third-party tools)
  • Overseeing data migrations, imports, and data quality initiatives
  • Building or maintaining reports using Business Central's built-in reporting or Power BI
  • User Support & Training
  • Acting as the primary internal subject matter expert and helpdesk escalation point
  • Training end users and creating documentation
  • Working with department leads in operations, finance, and supply chain
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serving as the bridge between IT and business stakeholders
  • Gathering requirements from production, purchasing, and finance teams
  • Supporting month-end close activities tied to the ERP (costing, inventory valuation)
