Job Summary: Under close supervision, performs a wide range of electronic and electro‑mechanical assembly tasks to build and assemble units such as power supplies, modules, chassis drawers, cable harnesses, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and other electronic systems. Work includes soldering, component installation, inspection, and basic troubleshooting to support production requirements and product quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic and electro‑mechanical subassemblies following production drawings, sample units, work instructions, and verbal guidance.
  • Apply established workmanship standards to all assembly tasks.
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of material (BOMs), and manufacturing instructions to determine required components and assembly steps.
  • Select and install electronic components (e.g., transformers, resistors, capacitors, transistors, relays, integrated circuits) onto printed circuit assemblies (PCAs) and panels.
  • Perform soldering and de‑soldering on both through‑hole and surface‑mount (SMT) components using soldering irons and hot‑air tools.
  • Use hand tools and small power tools to assemble, position, and secure components, ensuring proper alignment, orientation, and fit.
  • Connect wires to PCBs, route wiring, and complete cable, connector, and terminal assemblies.
  • Operate jigs, fixtures, and other hardware to support assembly operations.
  • Perform tasks such as potting, encapsulation, epoxy bonding, curing, sanding, cleaning, and color‑coding as required.
  • Conduct basic inspections, online go/no‑go testing, and visual checks to ensure assemblies meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform hand soldering and microscope work for small or precision components.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic defects; rework or repair units rejected during inspection or testing.
  • Follow all safety procedures when handling solder, chemicals, and flammable or hazardous materials.
  • Complete production records, logs, and required documentation accurately.
  • Maintain quality checks throughout the manufacturing process and ensure compliance with all workmanship and safety standards.
