About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail orientated Microelectronics Assembler to join our team. This Assembler position is located in the IRFS Value Stream in the Microwave Department and performs a wide variety of assembly operations to create precision electro-mechanical, electronic assemblies or sub-assemblies or microwave assemblies. Determines and/or follows method and sequence of operations in performing such tasks as manual die-attach using various types of epoxies or solders. Uses precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance with blueprint specifications and tolerances, dis-assembles precision assemblies and corrects malfunctions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience working as an electronic assembler.
  • Able to interpret and work with print and parts list, process sheets/route cards and technical drawing packages(i.e., ECO's).
  • Able to use hand tools.
  • Able to use measurement tools and devices such as scales, Calibrated eyepieces and calipers.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a 'US Person' under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in hand soldering SMT and through-hole components under a microscope.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, and Mil-Spec requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, modifies, reworks and repairs electrical components, assemblies, subassemblies and moderately complex modules by interpreting schematic diagrams, process sheets, technical drawing package or other specifications.
  • Inspects results to ensure conformance with requirements and performs rework as needed.
  • Verifies producibility of products during the first piece process.
  • Performs tasks of lower level assembler job description.
  • May cross-train on other assembly positions.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Ability to perform manual die-attach using various types of epoxy and solder to place components that are a minimum of 10x10 mils square while working under a microscope.
