This position is open to Alaskan Residents only. The Microcomputer/Network Technician 1/2 will be part of the State of Alaska's Office of Information Technology (OIT) Service Desk team. The successful candidate will engage in monitoring the AlaskaNow Service Desk ticketing system, triaging user-entered requests, and managing the Call Center help line. This role provides an opportunity to utilize technical expertise while collaborating with various teams dedicated to serving Alaskans across diverse fields. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that systems, networks, and applications meet desired service levels, allowing end users to access them effectively and perform necessary transactions. In addition to monitoring operational logs and events, the technician will maintain systems and procedures for logging, classifying, and presenting changes in system resources that may require preventative or corrective actions. The role involves identifying faults proactively to prevent issues, liaising during routine and emergency system shutdowns, and ensuring streamlined processes are followed. The OIT Service Desk aims to provide high-quality customer service for both internal and public customers utilizing State of Alaska computing resources.
