The Microbiology Laboratory at Michelson Laboratories offers a wide array of services and is staffed with industry-leading microbiologists. As part of our expansion in the Microbiology department at our Commerce location, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Microbiology Lab Manager. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and efficiency of our laboratory services, which include the analysis of food products for a broad spectrum of customers. The Microbiology Lab Manager will work closely with the Microbiology Operation Managers and a team of peers to support operational flow and ensure fast turnaround times while maintaining high-quality service standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in microbiology and will be responsible for reviewing and approving data for reporting to clients, consulting with clients regarding result interpretation and test recommendations, and leading the training of incoming technicians. This position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting analytical testing methods and instruments, as well as conducting various quality assurance and quality control checks on laboratory supplies and reagents. In addition to technical expertise, the Lab Manager will be expected to comply with all health and safety procedures, record findings accurately, and perform a variety of laboratory tasks including sample enrichment, media preparation, and sterilization.
