About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Microbiologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong microbiological skills, including aerobic plate counts, most probable number analysis, isolating and identifying bacterial cultures, ELISA, PCR, and media preparation. Proficiency in maintaining good aseptic techniques is essential. Routine laboratory functions such as data entry and validation, maintaining bacterial control cultures, instrument calibration, maintenance, repair, and keeping the laboratory and notebooks audit-ready are key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Food Sciences, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in an FDA regulated GMP environment in either a food or pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in science, microbiology, chemistry, food science, and testing of raw materials.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-functioning team.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct aerobic plate counts and most probable number analysis.
  • Isolate and identify bacterial cultures using techniques such as ELISA and PCR.
  • Prepare media and maintain good aseptic technique.
  • Perform routine laboratory functions including data entry, validation, and maintaining bacterial control cultures.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and repair laboratory instruments.
  • Ensure the laboratory and notebooks are always audit prepared.
  • Manage inventory, maintain 5S organization, and ensure cleanliness.
  • Support process validation and protocol development.
  • Conduct process equipment inspections and sample collection.
  • Perform allergen testing.
